Only perfect practice makes perfect.'

Established in 2008, Violorn Music School offers specialist tuition for Violin and Piano, as well as Music Theory, Harmony, Sight Reading and Aural Training. The school also offers bespoke GCSE and A Level Music exam preparation. The school had 100% exam pass rate, with many students pursuing their careers at universities or conservatoires.

Violorn Music School is based in the village of Belton, North Lincolnshire, DN9 1LR, only a few minutes drive from junction 2 of the M180, so is easy to get to for students based in Doncaster, Scunthorpe, Sheffield, Leeds, York, Hull and surrounding areas.

The school prepares students for the ABRSM and Trinity College London exams - the vast majority of students receive distinctions or merits.

Every student is different but equally deserves the best education; each student has individual and personalised lessons, which often include differentiated resources. Lessons are delivered mostly one to one.

The instrumental teaching method for young players or beginners, focuses on nurturing and developing students' ears to help navigate the correct pitch as well as development of the students sense of pulse and rhythm. There is also a rigorous emphasis on development of instrumental technique from the very first lesson, that continues throughout students' instrumental education. The stave notation system is compulsory to learn in order to be able to play the written music.

Music theory and harmony lessons help students to understand in depth the music they play and enable them to acquire fundamental music elements knowledge to help to successfully compose using stave notation. ABRSM Grade 1 theory is an absolute minimum expected from the instrumental pupils to be able to continue their lessons at Violorn Music School after their Grade 1 practical or performance exams.

Aural training is either conducted during the instrumental lessons or can be delivered in separate lessons. Ear training constitutes an inseparable part of musical development. Violorn Music School students, from the very first lesson, learn to recognise basic intervals, write rhythmic and melodic dictations and develop listening skills, which helps with awareness of pupils' playing and helps to memorise the music. In time, the exercises are gradually increased in difficulty to help to refine the pupils' musical ear.

GCSE and A Level in Music exam preparation is entirely bespoke and depends on the student's particular needs. Each exam consists of performance, composition and listening/appraising paper. The exam technique is developed to enable the best outcomes.
