Music Theory and Harmony

Music Theory and Harmony lessons are delivered on a one-to-one basis and help students to understand the music they learn to play. A solid theory background also helps boost students' composing confidence; students are empowered to create richer and stylistically informed compositions. The fluent knowledge of music theory enables students to freely improvise on their chosen instruments.

Music Theory and Harmony lessons prepare students for the ABRSM grade exams. Candidates must pass Music Theory Grade 5 or above before taking a Practical or Performance Grade 6, 7 or 8. This is to make sure they have a good understanding of the elements of music, something that will prepare them for success at these higher grades.

All music Theory and Harmony lessons are bespoke and focus on student's individual needs. Homework is always incorporated into Music Theory and Harmony lessons.
