The violins are set up by professional luthiers* and violin makers - Sylvie & James Fawcett.

 

This means each violin's bridge, tailpiece, pegs, fine tuners and most importantly - the sound post were set correctly to maximise the sound quality and learning enjoyment. The violins are stringed with quality strings, which are either D'Addario Prelude, Pirastro Tonica or Thomastic Dominant. Each violin comes with a violin case, 2 fully haired bows, shoulder rest and rosin.

It is important to make sure a student has a suitable violin size, as with too big or too small violin, students will struggle to learn.

The cost of violin hire is £10 a month. After each hire, the violin is sent to the luthiers for the maintenance and checks. The school does not make profit by hiring the instruments.
